Trying to get in the middle of everything!
I Joined the "Young Republicans" in 1958 at the age of 18 and have carried Republican credientials ever since. However ..... the GOP has moved so far to the Right over the years that I now sometimes find myself in the other camp. I consider myself a Moderate and I try to understand both sides of the arguments. Thus the title "In the Middle of the Issues" I'm semi retired from the Mortgage Banking business (You never get out of that business) and currently hang out in Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York State.
These days I lean more to the sport of Political Pundant than toward business. I've had some expierence as a political campaign manager and advisor in State and local politics, having been a campaign manager and staffer for a New York State Senator. I've had a lot of fun with politics (probably because I refused to run for office myself). I still enjoy a good debate, although I sometimes find myself debating both sides of the issue. I try to keep in mind that the other side often has a legimate argument and I simply disagree with their position. I find that when I acknowledge the value of their argument, it makes it easier for them to find the value in mine.
I carry the motto "No Tolerance for Intolorance" and give no quarter to Bigots and Bullies. If they go there, I'm in their face. The problem with those guys is they don't know it when they've lost the argument.
